Magnolia's favorite CD is Ziggy Marley's "Family Time." We listen to this CD frequently, and her new favorite song on the CD is called "This Train," a duet with Ziggy Marley and Willy Nelson. As you can see from the video, Magnolia likes to sing the "choo, choo, choo" part!
This is our blog to share with friends and family that will provide for a place to share photos, stories, and updates about Maggie's day to day life---her story.

- Strep Throat?
We saw Dr. Ally today because Maggie once again has a cough, rash, congestion and fever! Dr. Ally said her throat looks horrible, and she assumes it's strep! She said that generally children under two do not require treatment for strep, so she wants us to wait it out, and if she's not getting better by Friday or Monday to come back in. I feel like I live there! Ally referred to Maggie as one of the "germ magnets."
I also feel like it's almost impossible to be a working mother in this situation! Luckily I have a very supportive husband who doesn't hesitate to be home when he has to be, and I work with very supportive carrying people who understand what life can be like for families with young children.
Here I go again...ranting about the injustice of having a child that's sick all the time, and how I'm dealing with it!
Poor little Moo! I'll keep everyone posted.

Now I Love...

Her little drawn out "nnnoooooooooo," whenever we ask her for a kiss (she thinks she's so funny). I love her little fast walk/almost run. I love her "Mommy, Hold You!" and "Mommy, Help You!" I love how she loves her letter "M," and how quickly she can find it anywhere. Auntie Sara and I were taken by surprise when Magnolia found her "M" in a giant golden arch this weekend as we were out and about! I love how she loves her babies. She helps them to go nigh-nigh, she feeds them bottles, and recently, she's even been trying to change their diapers! I love how she loves her friends---how she insists on singing about them everyday. I love that she loves to explore anything. With all the crazy stuff I've presented to her to eat or play with, she doesn't hesitate, she jumps right in! I love how she still signs "milk," and shouts it at us every morning right when she gets out of bed---she is quite serious when she's giving commands! I love it when she asks "Daddy Home?" when she knows Daddy went to work, and then she pretends to cry. I love it when she puts her little hands on my face and says, "luv ooo." I love her toes! I just can't get enough of those toes! I love it when she pretends to go "bye-bye" and she grabs her purse, her phone, and heads off to the back door, where she just stands until it's time to "go home again." I love how she's starting to sing (gotta post a video of that one!). I love how she still loves me so much. I love that no matter how old she gets, she still reminds me each day that she's my baby.
Happy 19 month birthday Maggie Moo.

Hiking
Our family enjoyed a nice little hike today in the foothills. Magnolia was kind of an angerball at first because she DID NOT want to ride in her pack. Mommy DID NOT want to carry her, and we didn't have her buggy, so in her pack she went---after awhile she realized it wasn't so bad.
It was a beautiful day! Magnolia and Boston enjoyed seeing all the dogs! Mommy and Daddy were so happy that the weather gave us the chance to get outside and move our bodies! Maggie even hiked all by herself for quite awhile, until she just got too tired and sat in the middle of the trail (as seen above). Too cute that Moo!

Maggie Moo Happy!
I can't get over the "Maggie Moo," it was unbearably cute listening to all her friends shout out "Maggie Moo!" when she got to school, now to hear her refer to herself as Maggie Moo...so cute! She's much, much better now. She's still got a slight runny nose, and the remnants of an odd rash from the fever, but other than that she's back to normal. She talked about her friends and Teacher Chris ALL day today. She's going to be so happy to see them tomorrow. Then on Thursday and Friday she gets to spend some time with Cousin Issac and Grandma Crist!
Thanks again everyone for tolerating all these updates. I know you all care and love her, and want to know how she's doing, but it's also such a nice way for me to share, vent and process everything about being little Magnolia's mommy.
Sidenote: Magnolia said SOOO many 3 word statements today, and even a 4 word statement! For those of you who haven't seen her in a while you are going to be amazed by her language!
Love-Love,
Mommy

She DESERVED a Frozen Delicious Treat!!!!!
So that's EXACTLY what she got! She's STILL GOT A FEVER, so I packed her up in the car and we drove to TCBY and we sat there and enjoyed a DELICIOUS white chocolate frozen yogurt WITH colored sprinkles! Daddy will be staying home with her tomorrow so Mommy might actually get a full day's work completed (although this will not be easy at all for me---I hate being away from her when she's sick, but of course she'll be with Daddy so she'll be fine). Daddy WILL do a blog update if he has time after they see Dr. Ally.

Sicky Update 2
Moo's doing much better this evening. She still had a high fever this morning, but the last time I checked it was 100.5---I think that little goose is on the mend!!!!! She's been sleeping really early, so by the time we took Boston on a walk this evening Moo was exhausted. She feel asleep on the walk, and is just now going to bed for the second time. Zac said she just couldn't go to bed and miss the Vandal basketball game! She sat up with him and listened to the game, and they ate pirate booty, and clapped together when the Vandals had great plays. She was laughing and giggling up a storm! She seems to be fairly quiet now, thank goodness since it's almost 9:30pm!!!! Hopefully our lives will get back in order tomorrow!
FYI-Maggie now refers to herself as "Maggie Moo."
I knew it wouldn't be too long before this happened, considering this is what all her friends refer to her as.
Good Night Maggie Moo, Love-love!
Go Vandals!

Sicky Update
We've still got fever! Last night she woke up at about 11:30pm with the highest temp so far, around 103+! Today it's consistently gone back up to 102 or so until she gets another dose of Motrin. Apparently Dr. Kissam said she may have caught a cold before she got RSV, and now the RSV is just running it's course. The big concern was that the higher fever was secondary to the RSV (i.e. infection). She's still not wheezing or anything, so I'm hoping she'll be feeling better tomorrow. She's still happy a lot of the time, but pretty irritable and fussy at other times as well. Tomorrow will be 6 days of fever if it's still not gone! I'll keep you all updated!
Oh, oh...I forgot an important update that I wanted to make sure I had documented. I am no longer "Mama" I am now a very serious and official "Mommy." I miss my "Mama," but I'm liking "Mommy" too!

Oh, Maggie...
Maggie's temp was still soaring at around 103, on and off all day. Zac finally said that he thought she should go to the doctor (first time ever that Daddy has suggested Magnolia go to the doctor before Mommy!). Zac took Maggie in this afternoon fairly certain that Maggie must have strep. His co-workers had little ones at home sick with strep and they had similar symptoms. Dr. Kissam tested for strep, which came back negative. She then ran an RSV test which came back positive. She said RSV generally runs it's course in three days, so it was odd that Maggie was still sick and that her fever was going up still. Maggie has also been doing this odd heaving breathing, which I've been associating mainly with her being annoyed. So with all this Dr. Kissam said she wouldn't feel good about things if we didn't do blood work and a chest x-ray. Here we go again.
Mommy did much better this time. I didn't even cry! Maggie was having so much fun at the hospital, chatting with everyone, and looking at all the babies! She was pretty angry when she realized what we were there for. When they did the chest x-ray they had me hold her, and they had Zac stand off to the side. She screamed "Daddy!!!!" during the x-ray, and he couldn't go near her. That was pretty much the worst Daddy torture I've ever seen so far!
She's still doing amazingly well. Her fever will go up, and she'll cuddle and act all sad, then she gets a little Motrin and you wouldn't even know she's sick. I've realized that Magnolia is simply not the average child, and no matter what, if the average child is only going to be sick 3 days, she'll be sick at least 5-6 days!
This morning, during a span of time when she was feeling pretty good, she asked to paint. Well as many of you know, Maggie paints EVERY day. I'm so sick of painting that I suggested Oobleck instead. She agreed, and quite enjoyed it!

This isn't so bad.
Magnolia has been running a fever of around 101 since Sunday evening. She's been really happy, had a slight running nose, and is REALLY cuddly! Today her fever got up to 102.5, and she definitely wasn't up for playing for a lot of the day. When Daddy got home she asked for his hand, then she took Daddy, Peppa, Doudou and Blanket to Mommy and Daddy's bed, then said "nigh-nigh." She then laid down on her Daddy's chest and fell asleep! Magnolia NEVER naps with us, so although she is sick, this was sort of a big treat for Zac.
Comparatively to the other times Magnolia has been sick, she seems to be doing really well this time. I think it helps that her tubes are in, and that she's most likely not going to get an ear infection on top of whatever this is that she has, which would have been the case previously.
The picture is right before bedtime this evening.
She sure does love that baby doll lately Grandma Crist!
