Another Maggie?

There is so much I could comment about this video...

I'll let all of you Maggie fans process this one on your own!

(FYI: Yes, there is something on her face. That would be green marker. She informed me, "Maggie green," and then began to color her face green. She then went to check it out in the mirror, and the rest of course is in the video.)

She has turned the couch into her own dance stage, and she makes me play the same song over, and over, and over, and over again, until she dances and runs to her heart's contentment!

Spring Basket

A basket full of Spring!

Tomorrow will be the Spring Equinox, and the official first day of Spring. I've been gathering little items here and there to put together a "spring basket" for Magnolia. Of course she's started to notice all the flowers blooming (this includes the Magnolia blooms on our Magnolia tree), the birds eating their food at the bird feeder, that warm sun that makes it much easier to play outside, and even that dirt that she can dig in! Everywhere she looks she sees Spring, I'm so excited to share all these new discoveries with her.

I also plan to pick up some edible flowers (edible in case Maggie decides to eat instead of plant) and organic soil for Maggie so she can experience the beautiful process of helping something to grow!

I'll make sure to get lots of pics to share!

Welcome Spring

Sleepy Girls

For the past two nights Magnolia has been sleeping with Mommy, Daddy and Boston! Talk about a family bed!! I don't know how people co-sleep on a continual basis, and actually feel rested when they wake up.

Magnolia's fever seems to be worse at night, and the Motrin and Tylenol aren't doing their job like they usually do, so we knew Maggie would be the most comfortable in bed with us. She's actually "sleeping" with us, which she usually never does. Usually when we would bring her back to bed with us, because we were just too exhausted to do anything else, she would play around on our bed until she was tired again, then she would ask to go back to her crib. The first night she rolled all over me in her sleep, and last night she rolled all over Zac---at least she's fairing things up so both of her parents aren't sleep deprived each night!

Here's some pictures of Magnolia and Boston passed out in our bed. Maggie's fever was raging, and Boston...well she always sleeps like that!

Today...

• Magnolia told me "Maggie Potty!" So I sat her up on the potty, and sure enough, that little girl decided she was ready to poop in the toilet.
• Magnolia noticed more than one "m" on the hummus container, and then preceded to count 8. Of course there are only two m's in hummus, but I had no idea she could rote count to 8!
• Magnolia woke with a fever in the middle of the night, but with some Motrin it stayed down until after her nap. Now we can't get it to go down at all, and it's at 104.8.
• Magnolia threw-up all over herself and Mommy this afternoon as well. Then preceded to say the saddest string of "uh-oh, uh-oh, uh-oh" ever!!

Eventful day so far, there is probably a lot more that has happened, but in light of the noted events I'm in sort of a foggy mommy haze, and just thought I'd blog this quick update to give myself a quick moment to recover and be tough for my little girl who is apparently really sick again.

"Open, open, open!!"

While Aunt Sara was reading Magnolia her bedtime stories, Maggie kept insisting that Aunt Sara "open" her stomach so she could see baby cousin. Sara even lifted her shirt, and Maggie still insisted "open!" She wants that baby cousin to come out and play with her!!

"Payim!!!!!"

This would be "play gym" for those that can articulate that!

Magnolia's been busy at the Fort Boise Community Center getting in a lot of much needed gross motor play during play gym hours! We can't wait until the weather is nice enough for us to get to the park more frequently, but I think Maggie is really going to miss her play time at Fort Boise!

Bugsy Update: It could be just a fluke, but Magnolia hasn't really needed her bugsy much at all lately. She's also healthy at the moment which I know helps! She hasn't freaked out once when I've suggested we leave bugsy in the car on errands, and she even calming agreed the other night that we didn't really need it for our evening walk! She now only uses it at bedtime and for car rides. HUGE PROGRESS PEOPLE!

Neighbors

Magnolia watching Parker

Magnolia has discovered her neighbor Parker, the delightful little girl who lives next door. Since Magnolia and Parker have been couped up inside all winter they haven't really noticed each other. Now that Spring is approaching, us "cottage dwellers" have started moving back outdoors so we can breathe again. Now Magnolia and Parker can't get enough of each other. They have moved their own chair to each side of the fence so that they can talk, feed their dogs bones, and dig in the dirt together. This evening Parker showed Magnolia how you can make your dog dig holes in the garden, then take off you shoes to squish your toes in the dirt, then you can sit in the hole and cover yourself with dirt. I asked Parker what her favorite thing to do outside was and she told me that playing in the dirt is "definitely the best." She said Maggie will have a lot more fun if she can teach Boston how to dig like Hazel (Parker's dog). Zac and I weren't too sure about that suggestion.

Parker's so engaging and full of pure imagination and fun (many of you who have met her know this)! Maggie is so enthralled with her she doesn't even notice Zac and I.

We're so excited that Maggie's found a great little friend from her own backyard!
