Mommy+Daddy = Love

Mommy and Daddy got a romantical evening at the Shakespeare Festival with a big thanks to Aunt Sara and Uncle Brad! They not only bought us tickets as an anniversary gift/Zac B-Day gift, but they also came over to take care of Moo too! Oh, did I mention that it was Vandal Night at the Shakespeare Festival. Did I also mention how proud we are to be Vandals, and how amazing it feels to be around so many Vandals while living in this city full of so many BJC fans!
Ahh, enough said.

Apparently Moo scratched a child at the park tonight because he got in her personal space. I'm sure Auntie Sara had a fun time dealing with that one! I hear she got pushed back, but dealt with it quite nicely. She's a fiesty one!

My Child is a Genius

I know every parent is just waiting for that defining moment when they realize that their child is a complete genius, and well, this happened to me two days ago. See, Maggie's had a runny nose and I've been spending a lot of time wiping it. For awhile now she's been getting a tissue and wiping it herself, but TWO DAYS AGO SHE BLEW HER NOSE HERSELF! Now all of you might be thinking, so what does that matter? Okay, I've worked with A LOT of toddlers and I have never met a 13 month old (who is actually 14 months old today) that can blow there own nose---she's a total genius. When I ask if she needs a tissue now she actually starts heading to the tissue box already blowing her nose. So snot's everywhere right? Then she "wipes" her nose which results in snot all over her face--see what I mean, total genius! Then of course Mommy "helps" her with the rest of the nose blowing/wiping exercise (she requires that I have my own tissue for this of course, as hers is clenched into her little fist like her own little nose blowing trophy), and then we both go throw our tissues away. She's so smart!

Here's just a few pictures of Maggie playing with shaving cream in the tub. Zac was a little hesitant to do this because of the story he heard about Cousin Issac having a very frightened response to shaving cream in the tub, and then hesitancy later with taking a bath. Maggie looked at me with that "what are we doing now?!" mommy look, and then threw her hands right into it! You do have to remember that Maggie spends three days a week with Chris, who apologizes to me when Maggie doesn't go through at least three outfits a day and end up looking like a total art project herself by the time we pick her up.

Please ignore the very obvious fact that our tub is in the middle of a remodel. I'm actually just going to give up on the remodel and re-caulk the tub!
Grandma Crist--I hear you are an expert in this area! Wanna help me re-caulk a tub?

Enjoy Magnolia Fans!

Oh, apparently when your are a genius you rub stuff on your belly!

There's a Tree in My House!

I woke up this morning and Mommy told me that I got a tree! I was a little confused, but when Mommy walked me out to the living room, sure enough, there was a big tree right there for me to climb into. And this is exactly what I did! As soon as Mommy put my body down, I crawled right into my tree. It's fabulous--I can stand up, I can look through the windows, I can put my babies "nigh nigh" in the tree, and I can even hang out with my dog in my tree.

I love it. Thanks again Grandma Tara.

Thanks Grandma Tara!

It's bigger than we thought, but great!!!

Here are some pics of what Miss Magnolia will be waking up to in the morning. Lately she has really been enjoying small spaces, etc. so this will be perfect. We can't wait till she wakes up.

Magnolia Sparkles!

"Og-og?"
Magnolia had her very first haircut today--complete with some fancy sparkle spray in her hair when she was all done. She did amazing, no fussing, just sitting there very interested in what was going on. I think she was wondering what the big deal was, and why all these people were staring at her like something big was about to happen. I do have pictures, but Auntie Sara has the camera since she actually took the photos while Maggie sat in Mommy's lap.
As soon as I get the camera back I'll post some to the blog.

Maggie then went shopping with Auntie Sara while Mommy got her hair done, and somehow walked out of Target with two new books and a giant box of O's. She spent the rest of the day taking a nice long nap, cooking with Mommy in her kitchen and yelling at her dog, or "og-og" (I believe this to be some variation of a two syllable "Boston," and "dog") as she calls Boston. She also helped take care of Daddy, who now has the stomach flu! Poor Daddio!

Peppa? Peepppaaa??? PEPPA?!?!

Magnolia and her dolly Peppa, are pretty much inseparable these days. So yesterday when I decided that Peppa REALLY needed a bath things didn't go so well. See, Peppa's all natural, stuffed with lamb's wool, and her clothes are made with natural dyes so cleaning her isn't a super easy task. I hand washed Peppa in the sink without Moo noticing, and then placed her on a rack in the dryer on gentle cycle. I had sort of forgotten that Peppa was drying when Moo decided to help Mommy put some of the dirty laundry in the washing machine and she peeked into the dryer--instant screams!!! She was shouting "PEPPA!" and glaring at me with tears in her eyes, like "how could you do this to my Peppa Mommy?" I stopped the dryer and pulled Peppa from the tomb so that Maggie could hug her soaking wet doll, and I told Maggie that Peppa had a bath, and now she was getting warm since she was all wet. The glares continued, and the crying, as I helped her place Peppa back into the dryer. Well, the tears and screaming for Peppa went on for about half an hour, until finally a snack distracted her.

I really hope Peppa's next bath isn't so dramatic!

Well, on another note, I'm home this morning after a long night of Maggie throwing up over and over again starting at around midnight. Now she has diarrhea too! Zac's a wreck, this after she pooped in the tub was almost too much for him to handle! I called into her classroom and one of her friends is out sick with the same thing. I'm hoping it's just a 24 hour bug. At 4am Zac and I had a debate about which is worse, baby with fever, or baby vomiting. I voted baby vomiting, and he voted baby fever! There's just nothing worse then puke all over you, your child and your house. You can't see it coming, and it's just messy every time. If anyone has some "how to deal with a toddler puking everywhere tips"---I'd love them!

More Fun at the Market

Here's some pictures of the cute Vandal enjoying the market and preparing for game day. We had a great morning downtown, and a wonderful evening too, mainly because the football game was great!!! Maggie is even getting the "go, go, go" part of the fight song down!

Go Vandals!!!

*sorry about the quality of the pictures, not sure what's going on, they look great when they aren't uploaded to blogger, the I/T husband is checking into it*

Small Spaces, Scarves and Stools

Moo has been very busy this week. Seriously, she's like a little tornado all day, and then she's been sleeping so well at night! She seems to be adjusting better this week to the new classroom and to the new children that have joined her and her friends. They made their first trip to the art museum this week, and Maggie and her friends sat and water colored together!! Chris has her watercolor painting, but as soon as she scans it and gives it to me, I'll see if I can scan it and post it to the blog---such an artist she is!
It appears as though Moo has moved to one nap a day, as long as she has had a great night's rest. This allows us to do baby story time every Thursday morning. It's great, we check out a book, go to story time, have a little play time at the library, then enjoy a snack at the Anne Frank Memorial where we can watch the beautiful water feature.
Here's some recent Magnolia pictures for you all to enjoy...

Seriously!!! So beautiful, isn't she???

Wow! It was exhausting watching the motor planning it took to sit on this stool, then cover her face with her scarf. She did it though!

Where's Maggie? Oh!! She's in the bottom shelf of her diaper changing table!

Did you all know that Maggie, Peppa and Peppa's gear can all fit inside this little basket? Amazing!

I moved the shelves around in our bookcase so that she could have a space to crawl into and sit. She loves it!
