Poor B-Dog!

Maggie has been all about her dog lately. Following her dog around (remember Maggie's just started walking, so to B this is more like Frankenstein attempting to attack her), stealing her dog's bone (doesn't Marley do this enough already?), giving her dog kisses (enough said), "throwing" Boston's ball for her (which means Maggie drops it right at her feet since she can't actually propel objects yet--hardly fun of course).

Don't get me wrong, sometimes B loves the attention, most of the time though--it's pretty annoying. Ahh, toddlers! Zac and I watch and just laugh. We know that if Boston can get through this incredibly frustrating toddler stage, they are going to bestest friends!

Poor B-dog. She thought Maggie wouldn't be able to find her under the crib, but of course Moo found her. Then of course Maggie had to give her some nice Moo smooches! You can actually hear Boston's "oh great more kisses" sigh!

This is the BIG perk for Boston. Still getting to share Maggie's food (big annoyance for Mommy though since Boston already eats very healthy dog food, and on top of that very healthy organic, soy/dairy free people food). Although now it's a big teasing game for Maggie where she shakes the food in front of Boston's face, hysterically laughing about her abilities to taunt her dog. Luckily Magnolia has a lot more fine motor mastery to accomplish so she occasionally drops something--Yay for Boston!

Wow--13 month olds are a lot of work!!

So I didn't do a post yesterday, which means I won't be doing anymore monthly birthday posts I guess.

I do have a lot of updates from the 13 month old though. Here's the latest straight from the Moo...

• I am drooling a ton, I have a runny nose, and a low grade fever--Hello Molars!
• I walked across my room tonight to get my mommy.
• I like to sit in my sling and push the shopping cart at the coop--not an easy task!
• I'm not so sure about my new friends at school! I watch those new guys very closely.
• My dog is sooo silly!
• I've kinda been a daddy's girl lately. I like sitting in the hammock with Daddy and feeding him puffs.
• I like to watch Daddy and Boston "fight" all the bees on the patio. Boston caught one in her mouth and it made her sad:(
• I thought it was really funny to get up and play last night at 10pm, just as Mommy and Daddy were trying to go to bed! They've never seen me so wide awake, energetic and silly--I scared them.
• I ate Snackimals in the car on the way home from the coop (Snackimals have soy lecithin in them).
• I need new shoes!
• I eat ladybugs.

We spent the morning outside today. Maggie couldn't stop telling me about the birds (she couldn't sign bird fast enough when she heard all the chirping and tweeting), she helped clean up the patio furniture, and the most fun---she helped harvest some of the vegetables from the garden. She was taking huge bites out of freshly picked tomatoes, and of course kept pointing to and requesting her blackberries!

Dear Auntie Hailey,

Thank you so much for my really, really, really cute onesie! I love it. I also look very cute in it. I even had a matching hair clip. I'm going to miss you tons, but I'll be up to visit for my very first Vandal football game this fall. Oh, don't forget---if you see some cute Vandal gear, I probably need it to wear to the game. Mommy will reimburse you of course!

Daddy checked on airline tickets for me and mommy to fly up for graduation, since her and I decided we just weren't into driving with the rest of the fam! I can't wait to see you graduate. I'm totally going to be a Vandal too!

Remember I love you tons, and I'm really proud of you. Study hard!

It was interesting keeping Maggie entertained during the wedding ceremony. Luckily we were outside. We've been joking that Maggie had to move to the "bad kid corner." She was a little too vocal for Zac, so he swooped her up and played with her behind everyone until the ceremony was over.

Trip to Oregon/Washington

I know you are all dying for some Maggie photos or videos due to all the text you've been enduring lately on the blog--- so here you go.

Our trip went great. It was so nice to see Lora, and her wedding was so beautiful. Our stay in Joseph was great too. Some of the most breathtaking views I've ever seen! Maggie was pretty fussy at times, but silly and happy at other times as well. And of course as cute as always!

Yipppeeee!!!

Fever free all day!!!!! I was a little unsure and cautious about going to work this morning, just to see if she was doing a little better, and after awhile I realized it appeared so. I kept calling Zac all day. He kept reassuring me that she was feeling better, no fever, eating well, bowel movements were getting more solid, etc. The nurse called him that afternoon and reported that everything looked good with the blood work, which meant we were dealing with a virus. Of course the other possibility is that we were dealing with a reaction to the MMR vaccine. Of course I can't be positive, but as much as her temperament changed the next day, and with the fever starting in that 7-10 day range for symptoms to occur, I'm definitely going to think more seriously about using the typical vaccination schedule, and research which options we have for childcare. Maggie has been that child who ends up in the "small percentage of children that react" before! Of course then I felt tortured about running all the tests, but many have reassured me that if it was something else timing would have been important, and it's better to be safe then sorry. Sara even said, "she's recovered from getting some blood and urine drawn just fine, if it was an infection or something worse she may have not recovered as well if you'd waited."

I guess the big test will be leaving town tomorrow. We are headed to our friend Lora's wedding in Milton-Freewater, Oregon. We have decided to go ahead and go last second, after thinking it probably wouldn't work out. Sara insists that we NEED a family vacation, and Zac and Sara assure me that Maggie will be just fine!

Of course we'll take lots of photos to share on the blog.

Thanks everyone for the nice thoughts and concern. My Grandma and I talked for a long time last night, and she said my Aunt was sick like Maggie has been when she was younger. She made me feel so much better, she told me she understands how hard it is to balance having a career, being a wife, a mom, and having a child that is just sick a lot. No matter what, watching your baby feel all miserable is just tough! I talked to Chris too, and asked if I'm just crazy, or maybe I overreact. She too made me feel so much better when she told me, yes that Maggie is sick---a lot, and for much longer periods than most children. Of course she would know. She also always validates my advocacy and pure love for my daughter. Maggie and I are so lucky to have her in our lives.

Thank goodness Maggie seems to be much better, and thank goodness she is as healthy as she is---I know way too many parents who have it way worse than I do!!
