Hangin' In the Pool!

We bought this pool for Boston last summer---she hates it. I'm fairly confident we have the only Brittany Spaniel that is afraid of water.
So anyways, Maggie has a pool now. She loves it.

This is the cutest picture ever, and of course my stupid finger had to get in the way.

Apparently Auntie Sara bought her new stacking cups for water play for their evening together last night. She quite enjoys them.

So Sara, did her new cups prevent a tantrum because they distracted her enough that she didn't want to stand in the tub?

Of course she just has to figure out how to put them together. This is her work right now, putting things together, and taking them apart. Oh, also putting things in, and taking them out. You know what this means---she's definitely approaching toddlerhood!

Maggie's Appetizer

Hmm, what can I find in here while Daddy is cooking my dinner?

Boston and I found something good!

Here you go Boston. You know I love to share my food with you.

I sure do love my Purely O's.

Is dinner ready yet Daddy?

Mommy had to work late tonight, so I missed dinner and bedtime. Apparently Maggie helped herself to an appetizer while Zac was getting her dinner ready. Mommy doesn't like working late, and doesn't plan on ever doing it again. Zac gave me a nice big glare when I asked, very politely I might add, if I could go in and hold her as she was trying to go to sleep when I got home. Of course he knew this would completly distract Maggie from falling asleep which he had been working on the last half hour. Luckily, she woke up about an hour after falling asleep and Mommy got to "help" her (of course this helped Mommy too!). Do the challenges of being a busy mom ever end???
Maybe I don't want an answer to that question.

It's Almost Here...

That very first Maggie Moo B-Day! So, I'd love some input. What does everyone think?

Location:
  1. Our House
  2. Elm Grove Park (Maggie's Park)
  3. Somewhere else I haven't thought of
Time:
  1. Early for brunch
  2. Lunch time BBQ
  3. Evening BBQ
Gifts or No Gifts??? Of course I'm leaning "no gifts" at the party, but Zac's leaning "gifts". Since it's mostly going to be family, and just a few friends, what would all of you prefer??

Let me know.
Thanks!

I am Me, And I Can Feed Myself!

"Please don't obsess about keeping me clean, I much more prefer doing it myself even if I get messy. Actually, I really hate getting wiped off, so you don't have to worry about cleaning me up at all---ever."

The Social Butterfly

Watching one of her peers act on an object, so she can imitate it later.

Initiating interaction with a peer.

Responding to initiations for interaction.

Just hanging out with her BFF.

Maggie LOVES school. She loves her friends, she loves teacher Chris and Chelsie--it's just amazing to see how happy she is when she's there. It really is any baby's dream, an entire environment set up specifically for your learning, growing, exploring pleasure. In addition she has specific developmentally appropriate activities (not restricted just to the classroom of course) set up for her and her friends enjoyment and learning. The reason I just had to have Chris as Maggie's teacher is that I knew she would create that loving environment where Maggie had no barriers (unless for safety of course) around her learning and exploration pleasure. I can't express enough how lucky we are that when Maggie can't be with us she's in a wonderful, loving supportive, learning environment with peers she'll create her first friendships with.

This is what QUALITY early learning and education is!!!!

She's So Damn Cute!

Auntie Hailey is apparently in some serious need of some Maggie photos. Here's some randoms that I hadn't gotten posted yet.

Just being her cute self.

Kissing is one of her favorite things to do. Here she is giving cousin Issac a big one. He's ususally pretty receptive to all her kisses.

My family is trying to do dinner together once a week this summer, so that Maggie gets lots of oppurtunity to see them (especially Auntie Hailey since she'll be heading back up to school again in Moscow this Fall). I'll try to get some pics this week from family dinner and post those.
