Trick-or-Treating

We figured Magnolia was finally ready for some real trick-or-treating this year. We got her all decked out, which she was surprisingly compliant with, and we headed over to the complete craziness of Harrison Blvd. on Halloween night. We headed out a little early to try and beat the crowds, and to trick-or-treat with the families that had younger children.

There were certainly a lot of little ones, but we definitely didn't beat the crowds! It was still tons of fun though. Maggie never did say "trick-or-treat," but she did start holding out her little treat basket for some treats, and then would occasionally slip out a quiet little "thank you."

She couldn't stop staring at all the silly costumes, and we were all enthralled by a little girl walking around as a giant gumball machine. Maggie actually found another little girl with her same costume, and stopped to tell her "That's my gnome hat too!"

Overall, a great success---with some treats to show for it! I was quite pleased though when we got home and explained that we were all done with candy and it was time to eat dinner. Maggie said goodbye to her candy for the evening, and ate half a burrito and a whole avocado---I was kind of worried about how that would go!

On the walk over to Harrison we looked up to see this beautiful rainbow! Maggie's first rainbow; she was super excited.

She told me that she had to tell Chris about it (I think they have been talking about rainbows at school recently).
